I know this thread was posted a few years ago, but I have an interview coming up at VCU NA program and would like some recent advice. If anyone has any advice on the interview process, if you still have to take the test afterwards or even how to prepare would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Sedatetime - Congratulations on securing an interview with a wonderful school! Would you mind sharing your stats or how you have been studying for the interview? I hope to apply there next year. When did you have your application in and who did you get your recommendations from? Are you applying for the Richmond campus? Good luck!
Thanks. My stats are not all that impressive but good enough to get an interview I guess. I sent my application first week of August. I got the call last Thursday to come for an interview next week. I have been studying everything I can think of. Like ACLS, drips, vent settings, things like that. I just bought my outfit for the interview, and booked my hotel. Now trying to decide how I'm going to get there- drive 6 hours or fly. I have not been asked what campus I want to attend will apply for the Richmond campus.
ADN- 2.8
BSN- 3.5
GRE-950
2 years Med/ Surg ICU, 3 years PACU
Oh yea, my references came from 2 CRNA's and my supervisor.

Sedatetime - How did the VCU interview go and when will they notify you of acceptance? What did you think of the school and how many other candidates did you interview with? Thanks for sharing and congratulations on getting the interview!
Thanks. Well the interview went great, very laid back, by the time I did interview I wasn't even nervous. The staff there is excellent, they make you feel comfortable. There were 3 staff members who interviewed 5 of us separately.
I was shocked at how old the school was but the program itself is state of the art. They say we should know no later than the second week of December. The program is really fair and is based on a point system according to your stats, they even give you time to complete your CCRN, GRE, PALS before December. You just have to let them know you are taking it and call them when you pass or what your score is to increase your chances of getting in.

Sedatetime Can you tell me what kind of questions they asked? Did you have to take a test during the interview?
Just get to know you questions, a few clinical questions on cardiac output, diuretics. I don't think they ask to many technical questions because you do take a 30 question test before the interview starts. They usually grade it before you leave but don't tell you the score, but I saw my grade in my folder which was on the desk. The questions were CCRN type questions, it wasn't that hard.
I know they said by the 2nd week of December, but has anyone heard anything yet regarding acceptance.
