VBAC Grandmultip and Pit??

Is this normal? I'm getting conflicting info and I'm confused.

Might be best if this is moved to the OB forum.

What is considered grand? I had 3 VBACs and all were with Pit. No probs.

Just a mom of 4 no ob experience.

Jolie, BSN

Specializes in Maternal - Child Health. Has 34 years experience.

The grandmultip part would concern me if there was evidence (direct visualization during a previous C-section) of poor quality healing of the uterine scar, or an abnormally thin uterine wall.

The pit part could concern me, and would certainly justify 1:1 care at the bedside.

Our VBAC patients were not able to have epidurals out of concern that an epidural would mask the pain that accompanies uterine rupture.
