Was wondering if anyone out there could tell me how your unit does vasopressin drips; the concentration and the flow rate. Thanks

Hi there, We mix one to one eg: 40 units in 40 ml in a buretrol. Then for each .01 units per minute the rate is .6ml/hour. Hope this is helpful

Yup, we do it exactly the same way: 1 to 1 syringe mix, then usually at .04 units/min, equalling 2.4cc/hour. We don't titrate the drips up and down - we usually just turn them on or off, which you certainly wouldn't do with other pressors, it's true...

Our vasopression comes mixed from the pharmacy as 0.5 units/ml .... so you can always go up or down in 2's and know it's just one unit....

We also run our drips in units/hour instead of units per minute. We've found it to be somewhat easier and faster.

We run ours 1 unit=1ml in units/hour. We do titrate ours. E.g. "start vasopressin at 2 units/hour. Titrate to keep SVR greater than 600."
