Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Winter 2017

Published

Hi Everyone, I know its early but who out there is applying for Vanderbilt's Nurse Residency Program in the Winter of 2017? I am applying for Burn ICU once they open up the application :)

Never too early! I'm happy this group has been started! I honestly don't know what I will apply for. I know I want to do critical care or maybe the operating room?

The applications open up on the 12th :)

I'm applying! I'm leaning toward the NICU (I have a clinical there and I LOVE the staff) or L&D.

Applications are open!

I'm also applying for the program from out of state! Does anyone know of the best places to live in Nashville?

Has anyone gotten the application packet yet? I sent in the first part of mine and haven't gotten anything. It's been 72 hours...

Hey everyone! I'm finishing up the first part of my application I was just wondering did you put the letter of intent as the cover letter or do they want that in the second part?

Thanks! And good luck everyone!

Hi everyone! I am also applying from out of state. I did upload a basic cover letter, not the letter of intent.

There's another thread that was started, this one has a current nurse resident at VUMC who is answering some questions in case anyone would be curious: https://allnurses.com/tennessee-nursing/vanderbilt-nurse-residency-1064735.html

Hi! So happy I found this thread. I'm on the second part of my application packet, and I'm just waiting to start my job as a CNA so I can put it down for work experience. I selected the PICU track, but would be happy with any pediatric opportunity. Graduated from nursing school in April with my BSN and I'll be taking my NCLEX in December. I'm applying out of state, but will be taking my state's test and applying for a Tennessee license after.

Hello all! How long did it take for you to get your 2nd half of the application? I know they said it was 72 business hours... That to me means any where from 1-9 business days. I applied 2 days ago and would like more than three days to get my second half ready. What can I go ahead and prepare to make the second app a quick process? I got references and am mailing my transcript to myself to go ahead and have on hand.
