VA Outpatient Clinic Nursing-What to expect?!

Hello! I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience at a VA Outpatient Clinic. I'm already working at a independent Family Practice clinic and I'm assuming it's pretty similar in regards to clinic nursing. I'm looking for any info from what nursing skills are involved to what the normal pay would be for a nurse with 3+ years of outpatient clinic experience.

My buddy works as an LPN at the local VA clinic. He says it is a cake job! Low nurse to patient ratio and excellent hours. Pay is going to be determined by your location (and experience.) He makes 55k as an LPN with about two years experience.
