I've sent in my application, taken the proctored essay (I live in southern California) and called to find out when we should start hearing back. Mid-December is apparently when they'll start sending out letters. I'd love to hear from others who've applied to UW Seattle's ABSN program for 2011.

Hey SDnurse,
Sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I am also in San Diego and applied to UW's ABSN program. Holy rigorous application process! So glad it's over and even more glad to know that we should be hearing from UW in mid-December! The proctored essay made it sound like we wouldn't know until February.
Did the person you spoke with at UW give any indication as to how many other people applied this year? I'm curious to know what our competition is like. This is my second year applying to UW (last year I applied to the GEPN program), and I think I'll be applying to the traditional BSN program in addition to SPU and maybe SeattleU. Can I ask which other schools you've applied to?
Hi Ajwarr!
I know that they receive over 600 applications normally, but I didn't ask about this particular round. I listened to the online info session and that was the number that they had mentioned for the previous year. I had done my proctored essay on Wordpad and when I opened it to review it, it opened in MSWord and the formatting was off, pushing my essay just over the limit. That's when I called them, in a panic, to make sure it was ok.
I'm also applying to Mt. St. Mary's in L.A., CSUN, CSU San Marcos, and maybe Loma Linda. Oh, forgot about OHSU. This is my first year applying, so I hope I get accepted somewhere on the first go-around.
By the way, was it just me or did the dose calculations on the proctored exam seem a little...I dunno...too easy?
The dose calculations did seem very easy, which made me a little nervous. Hope they weren't trying to be tricky.
I applied to OHSU last year, but didn't get in. For their accelerated BSN program, they only look at your cumulative GPA and your essay. Sadly, I was more interested in partying than in studying as an undergrad, so my GPA is not really competitive. Thank goodness UW takes into account health care experience and such.
Best of luck with all of your schools! I'm awaiting December very impatiently...

Hi,
Does anyone know anything about UW's ABSN 2012 admission statistics? I have taken the proctored essay. I live in the Bay Area and my co-worker proctored me and emailed it in. He did not hear back or get a confirmation when he sent it in. Is that normal? Also, does anyone know how many people applied for this year? I think we start hearing back around December 15th?
Any information would be appreciated.
Thank you,
:)
Also, I know the science minimum GPA average needs to be a 3.0., but what is considered competitive?

Hi guys, this website has been so helpful thus far (thanks)....is anyone familiar with FTCC ADN admission program (2012) in North Carolina? I hear they accepted up to 99 students last year! In the process of applying just wanted to know thoughts of others.
