I am in Bakersfield, central valley. I went my undergraduate in San Diego and had to come back to my parents' home to save money. FunkyShunk, is UW your first choice?

Yay!! I just got a call letting me know I'm accepted! Hope to hear others too! Good luck everyone!

spaceshuttleboy: that's wild what a coincidence of timing! Rochester is awesome. Had initially considered applying there because I have a lot of family there. They also have a sweet bsn to msn deal where if you work for the school as a RN, they help pay a lot of your higher degree.

UW is going to be great though!

now I'm just waiting on the PLU ELMSN...

Oh I didn't know that.

Well, I had to decide on the spot, since Rochester needed my deposit today and they're also giving me a substantial scholarship so I'll be going there. I'll have graduated by December and be able start my career sooner.

It's nice to have gotten into the number program in the country though.

Yay, everyone. Celebrate!

people who got call by UW today, congratulations!

I was screaming to the person on the phone and said thank you like hundred times, so

I forgot to ask some important stuff.

Did you guys hear if you are expected to received the further information via ground mail or email?

Hahaha! Yeah, I think they get that a lot. I let out a quick hoot and holler, and all the lady on the phone did was laugh a bit!

I didn't get to speak with the main caller, as I was taking a final and called back afterwards. The front desk associate let me know that we would be receiving a packet in the mail by Wednesday (I'm in Seattle, so I don't know if I'll get it sooner, or if other's will get it later). But the mailing will have all the rest of the information, as well as how to make the deposit.

I'm living near campus right now, in a house of five people. But I don't know what their plans are for the future, so I started looking online again. Housing near UW is really expensive! What are other's planning on doing?

I was just looking back at their site to see if I could find a link to it. I believe it came up when I was on the phone with someone. I was looking into the AMPNN program, and comparing it to the ABPNN. That was where someone gave me the heads up. They said that although they only reserve slots for the Masters if you get into the AMPNN option, they encourage you to work for a year as an RN at the campus hospital after completing the ABPNN, acquiring some references and applying to the Master's for nurses program. If you work things right, it almost sounded like it would be paid for.

Anyways, you should definitely update about how it is! It seems like it will be such an incredible school! Good luck!

Hello, ZrowGz

thank you for the information. I still feel like I received the phone call in my dream. Without a proof of documentation, everything seems unreal now haha. Anyway, I lived in San Diego about five years. I looked into some rent situation in Seattle, and two cities are very similar in terms of living cost. I guess I will try to rent a room near UW which probably cost about $5-600. Am I right?

If you know any good place to look at rental information other than craigslist, could you share with me? :)

You can find places on Craigslist easily, but if you're inclined otherwise, you can check out the Off-Campus Housing Affairs site of the UW. It's a great resource for outside apartments or houses that are advertised through UW. They're not "UW-approved, or UW-affiliated" but it's a great place to start. Also, start looking pretty early. They fill up quickly.
