UTMB Summer 2020

Thought I would start a thread for UTMB Summer 2020 I am taking my TEAS tomorrow!

Hello everyone. I was accepted into UTMB for the Spring 2020 and for all Those that have yet to hear about an acceptance I would say not to worry. For our group they sent the first way on June 17th but I did not get my acceptance until July 29th I believe. So there is still plenty of hope!! Good luck guys and congratulations!!!!

Also I wanted to edit my comment to add that the only reason I believe our second wave was so far from the first was because the staff at UTMB celebrate two holidays around that time so we had to wait a bit for the second wave but hopefully the second wave will come faster for your guys!!

My status changed to Admit yesterday in the MyStar portal and I got the acceptance email confirmation today at 11 am! I'm only in my 3rd semester of college and it's my first time applying to nursing schools. This move was a long shot because I am still working on two prerequisite courses right now but it was worth it (so to those wondering if it's worth applying despite your current status, i'd say go for it!)

My STATS are currently:

Overall GPA: 4.0

Science GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 84% (first attempt, all sections were above 80%)

Healthcare experience for over a year: I got my Medical Assistant certification senior year of high school and started working the summer after graduation until currently. I believe having an active BLS certification has an impact on your application as well. Congrats to everyone!

I was also accepted into UH Accelerated so have to decide!

Having the same dilemma! Not sure which to choose.

Is creating a mystar account mandatory to getting accepted into UTMB and did everyone get an email from UTMB saying their application is under review?

Once you applied and did the supplemental application they should have sent you all the log in information

Once you submit your application, they will email you the information for Mystar. So I would say successfully accessing Mystar does not mean a guarantee of acceptance.

I think I don't receive any email directly from them that my application is under review. I checked Mystar every day, and I also emailed the staff there to get some information haha.

But to someone who the status has not changed, the review might end until late November, so "complete" does not mean you get a denial. They may haven't reviewed your application yet.

Well I got an email from NursingCas saying my application is being verified and all that like everything went through smoothly, but I NEVER got an email about mystar. I didn't even know about that until today. I don't know what to do.

did you complete a supplemental application?

I would call UTMB on Monday or email Ms.Botello and try and figure out whats happening with your application

Thank you for the feedback, I will probably end up doing both lol, is it easy to find Ms. Botello's email on the utmb site?
