UTMB Fall 2012

HI! I am applying for the traditional BSN program at UTMB that starts Fall 2012. I am taking my TEAS this friday and I wanted to know if anyone else here is applying for the same semester. Hopefully there are others so I don't have to be nervous alone!! :D

namtx07, I also got an interview forthis coming Wednesday!

and my husband got called in for a second interview on Wednesday. I hope that's good!

As my wife has said, I've been called in for a second interview. Is this unusual? Has anyone else been called in for a second interview, and if so, how should I expect it to be different from the first?

Namtx07 & Jessbird, what time on Wednesday? Afternoon for him... :)

@csmcj - Unfortunately I do not know anyone who has been called in for a second interview. That could be a really good thing.... Maybe the interviewer you had forgot to ask all the questions..... Or maybe there is a discrepancy in your paperwork vs your statement so they are calling you in to discuss it....... Either way they liked you enough to give you a chance to either explain, etc..... Good Luck to you!

To who got a second interview...

You may want to call and confirm. Last semester I remember reading on allnurses that the second interview was a mistake and they just got a email for another interview accidentally.

If it isn't a mistake, I would think it is good! They probably just want to clear some things up. Best of luck to everyone!

I just declined my spot with UTMB so one more seat is available! I got accepted 40 miles closer to home otherwise I would have gone to UTMB in a heartbeat! I wish all of you the best of luck at UTMB and in your journey through nursing school. May the Lord bless each of you!

Oh no, it's definitely not a mistake. I called them back the same day I got the call to confirm and was told by the person I spoke with that she could see I had already interviewed once, but they wanted to talk to me again. I'm looking at this as a good thing...if nothing else, it'll give me a chance to better explain that my GPA (which is only ok, not great) is not a reflection of my actual abilities, but a reflection of mistakes I've made in the past. My test scores, however, are all excellent, which is I guess why they maybe want to talk to me. In any case, I'll let everyone know how it went when I get back. I'm really glad to have found this forum and all the supportive people here :)

@jlmcjunkins- My interview is at 1PM on Wednesday!

lol. csmcj's is at 1:30! Maybe we'll see you! :yeah:

I just withdrew my acceptance. That frees up one more spot!! I also had won a scholarship, so hopefully the will award it to someone else! Good luck everyone!

FYI - it is looking like I will be releasing my spot at UTMB as well... I am still not 100% sure but I was accepted into UTHSC and my heart was set there.... As well as the fact that they have my Masters degree program.... Only them and Baylor have the CRNA program.
