Utilization of LPN's at Certified HHA

I am the Director of Nursing for a Certified Home Health Agency. Prior to this year we had all RN staff. I have two LPN's that work for me. I have limited their duties in the field because use of LPN's is new here in rural NYS. I have knowledgeable, skillful LPN's - I would like them to be able to be involved in PICC lines (blood draws, dressing changes, IV infusion, CV caths, etc.) We also don't allow them to supervise home health aides. Has anyone out there had experience in this area? I NEED HELP!

Sorry, in my state LPN's in the home health setting cannot do picc lines, central lines, home infusions etc. They cannot complete OASIS paperwork from what I gather too. Met many skillful in drawing blood peripherally, revisits, wound care, etc. We have had great success in them taking referrals, coding, etc. Good luck!!!

We use 2-3 LPN's to see parients on a daily basis. They cannot do IV's or central lines or OASIS assessments. They are excellent at lab work, CP assess, wound care and follow up the teaching that the RN has done. They are really valuable to our agency and could do alot more but are held back by regulations.
