So, I looked through the archives and I couldn't find any recent reviews of Utica College's Online ABSN program. The courses are online and the clinicals are held near campus. Does anyone on here have any feedback for this program? I am not looking for advice on online vs. brick and mortar--that is research I have done a ton of: on here, elsewhere, via personal experience, etc, etc... Anyone go through this program? ♥️
Following and would love some input from those who are currently in the program. I have applied for Fall 2020 and worry about the negative reviews like everyone else. I live in Rochester which is a little over an hour away from Syracuse so I would be commuting. Any other people commute or most people living locally?
Buyer beware! Graduate and maintained one of the highest GPA at the school...that being said stay away, they(anyone except instructors) could care less. Money motivates the "school", here is an example. The class or cohort I was in more often then not had issues when it came to passing test, the fix, grade on a curve, which is ok as long as it is done fairly across the board, I made a 98 on a cumulative test, they awarded 30pts to keep the rest of my class/cohort/fellow utica students from FAILING(loss of school income). Out of that 30 points awarded I was only able to get 2 points, I was told above 100 was against school policy, I querying this an email sent to an individual named, Pawloski. I of course never got a response. This is important to know because of the way their grading system works, a 4.0 is unattainable at Utica! I graduated around mid December and the school is holding us hostage to our future by not turning over to the state, our transcript so that we could be eligible for SIT pass(nursing board). Again I've made contact with the school regarding this as other schools would not take 12 weeks after graduation to let students continue on with their lives. Again no rhyme or reason, just lack of care(although popular opion among graduates, is the school has to maintain a certain pass rate for the state to allow them to be accredited, so they hold them). When we first went to an orientation or "THE BIG SELL" another individual named Payrot assured us all of the negative reviews were old and the school had made hugh changes, apparently, Mr Payrot has a lack of concept on technology(I looked them up, then and there, and found his statement to be at the very least, false). I have a prior BA from a state university, so I felt while the program lacked in SO many ways, I could complete it and did not want to wait for another school program to start. I've decide to give this program a 1 star as the 5 star rating(s) are clearly fake, so why haven't droves of students come forward to express the same? Simple answer, no one wants to tell people "their" school is bad, this gets to employers making it less likely to be a candidate for hire ie, Havard law vs Silly Clowns school of law! With this in mind if this is your ONLY choice, find another career!!!!
To the school: save your time and do not reply as tho you care, you were given many chances to right your wrongs and choose to do otherwise, doing so now would be under duress, not because it is the right thing to do:)
Dictated but not read.

Which location are you talking about? Florida or NY?

thank you soooooo much for this response. I just applied and I feel like uneasy about it for some reason. A program that doesnt require rec letters, a personal statement ect seems like they only care about money ? and then allllll online? idk weird
@IntendingRN I am working with Ashlee. Lucky you on the no commute. Not gonna lie, was hoping to only have to drive to Liverpool twice a week (not 4 ugh). No I do not have to take any prerequisites. I have applied for a Fall 2020 start and Ashlee said they will be reviewing applications in March/April.
@CAllen15 I meant Ashlee, she's the same person I'm working with. You are very lucky you've completed all your pre reqs.
@schan006 I don't think that would be a problem. You paid for the class so it should transfer to anywhere else you decide to go. I think the whole point of taking the prep class with them is cause it automatically gives you preadmission status into the program as long as you pass it and it also allows you know how the whole online schooling thing works. Hope this helps.
@IntendingRN thank you! I was scared of the pressure of having to attending the school if i took a prep course but thanks for the clarification. That makes much more sense.
Does anyone know where I can do the payment for the course that I need to take (chem 1)? Do I make it online? I've tried to reach my financial aid counselor but recieved no response from him. Also, do I need to buy the book as well or is it optional?
