UTHealth Cizik School of NURSING (Pacesetter program) Spring 2022

Published

Hi,

I opened this for those who apply for Sping 2022 at UTHealth Cizik School of Nursing Pacesetter program.
I plan to take my HESI in May.

I got denied 3 times so far

nursing GPA: 3.4

overall GPA: 3.7

HESI (1st time): 85

(2nd time): 89

I don’t remember if it’s on the website but in their seminars they say to aim for an 88 or higher in all sections of the HESI and to have a 3.5 or higher GPA for a better chance at being admitted.

Just checked again and still says “under review” ughhh. At least it isn’t a decline yet.

I applied with

HESI : 85

A&P section : 84

science GPA : 3.7

overall / pre req GPA : 3.8

everyone that got accepted so far has better stats of course. I’m just hopeful I guess since I haven’t been denied yet.

thise that got denied ,  what were your stats ?

My application is still pending too.

My stats:

Science GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 3.89

HESI: 94%

HESI A&P: 100%

I heard it was a lottery system from people who are already in the program, pretty much means people with lower stats will get accepted and people with higher stats may be waitlisted/denied ??‍♀️
I got accepted at Lonestar Spring program, I won't wait for another admissions period to apply to UTH. Some girls didn’t get accepted until their 6th or 7th try. Also, what I wish I knew before hand is that people who drop classes from the previous term, will repeat in the new incoming cohort. Meaning they take less then 120 new applicants, which lowers the chances of getting accepted.

Hi friends, congrats to those who were admitted! Is the pattern that if we didn't hear in the first or second wave then we are rejected? I called and they told me November 15th, but I see that other people were accepted way before hand.

From what I understand, the November 15th deadline usually means everyone gets a response by that time. In previous terms, people usually receive acceptance around three weeks before that—the waitlists go out and then denials after that. This term has been different though because as far as I know, no one has even received a waitlist yet! So I don’t think there’s any pattern that we can go off of anymore ? Honestly, I think all acceptances have been sent out. But I still think there’s a waitlist they have yet to announce. I wouldn’t lose all hope just yet. Good luck!!

Yeah I also think all acceptances are out already. From a previous terms I heard that some didn't hear back about waitlisted or denials until the end of November ?. But I too don’t think admissions has been consistent through the years, so honestly we never know.

well shoot, I thought I had a decent chance. I had a 3.75 pre-req GPA and a 92 on my HESI ? I guess I'm glad I applied to other schools just in case. it looks like other people with similar stats are still waiting as well so I'll try not to take it personally, even though I am dying on the inside lollllll

You do love, well anyone does because its a lottery system.

I just received an email about an hour and a half ago saying that at this time decisions were still being made and that by November 17th we should know a for sure answer.

Wow I didn’t receive any email about that either. I wish they communicate better. If we are all applicants, don’t know why we don’t all receive the email.

Honestly I think the only reason I got an email back is because I emailed them twice asking the same question. But hoping we can finally know something by next week because this waiting game is killing me!!
