Hello everyone. I was searching for a thread but could not find one so I am starting this discussion topic for USF MSN non nurse spring 2018 applications.
Lets all discuss our stats like GPA, volunteer experience, etc. I have a decent prerequisite GPA right now. I have registered for Micro and psychology and will be taking in fall. My undertgrad GPA is 3.15 in computer applications (not that good). After working in customer service I was no longer interested in computers so decided to change my major.
Lets start this journey together and good luck to everyone.
I feel there will be more rounds of acceptances. When she called me for my acceptance, she made it sound like they will be making phone calls throughout next week, not just today so don't feel discouraged!
Has someone made a facebook page for the cohort? I'm interested in how people are approaching finding housing or if they already have it scheduled? I feel it will be incredibly difficult with such short notice. I am from Sacramento and I know SF is notorious for lofty rent prices. I have heard of people commuting from outside SF and taking the transbay tube or other public transportation. Just curious to see what everyones plans are.
Thank you! That eases my anxiety a bit.
If I were to get in I'd be moving in with my friend who lives in Oakland-- the bart doesn't take that long, it's the bus time that you have to watch out for. Also, try too see if you can get in any usf facebook grad/undergrad pages bc I'm sure that ppl are always looks for other ppl to room with because of the high prices.
For the waitlisted people: I emailed Erin and she did the say waitlist is ranked. I read in previous threads that it wasn't ranked and they re-evaluated the waitlisted people based on the cohort but it is actually ranked. She said she couldn't tell me my rank or how many people were on the waitlist, unfortunately. Prayers for you all!
@warsh26 Oh man... that almost makes me even MORE nervous!! I wonder why they can't just tell us our rank and how many there are? Other programs tell... that's just very odd to me but then again, I don't work in admissions so maybe there is some rhyme to their reasoning lol. Aggghh.
Want to help me make a Facebook group? Thinking it might be easier to add me first? Not sure how to private message on this forum so here's my profile :)
Made a Facebook group for USF-SF MSN Spring 2018. Think this is the easiest way for us to connect so soon before school starts
@md21887
I have a ton of questions! Thanks for being available.
Any recommendations for housing or is it best to commute from other parts of the Bay Area?
How are clinicals scheduled (by semester)?
What is the class schedule like? Primarily evenings? Or primarily mornings?
Do you think its manageable to work oncall/per diem or part time during the program?
Any places that are quiet to study on campus?
That is all for now; but I definitely have a lot more!

Yea...there's no rhyme or reason with this application cycle. We just need to wait it out because trying to figure out their process is going to drive us even more nuts! Ahhhhhh
