USF MSN CNL non nurse spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone. I was searching for a thread but could not find one so I am starting this discussion topic for USF MSN non nurse spring 2018 applications.

Lets all discuss our stats like GPA, volunteer experience, etc. I have a decent prerequisite GPA right now. I have registered for Micro and psychology and will be taking in fall. My undertgrad GPA is 3.15 in computer applications (not that good). After working in customer service I was no longer interested in computers so decided to change my major.

Lets start this journey together and good luck to everyone.

I emailed Miss Ingrid who works with the graduate admissions regarding the decisions and she said that this app. cycle it is taking longer to finalize decisions than expected, so we will hear back in the next few weeks.

She also mentioned that final decisions have not yet been made.

Based on this information I don't think that we are going to hear this week.

FYI - my email was specifically for SF campus.

Thank you for emailing and letting us know. I guess the wait continues. Bummer!

Wow.. so it's possible that OC won't hear back until December :( such a bummer but thank you for updating!

Just called specifically for the OC campus.. same thing "8-10 weeks." Also mentioned earliest LATE November to EARLY December.... I guess they really need more than 10 weeks for this cycle.. yay for another whole month of waiting!

Wow, a few weeks? I wish they would send out email updates if they are extending the promised "8-10" week deadline.

I️ really wish they did too. It's weird that they said "8-10 weeks" but then late to early November is already past the 10 weeks..

Apparently your decision is posted AFTER the 8-10 week deadline, which is so annoying. I feel like that's so late to find out. If I get in or not really impacts the next steps I take considering this is the only program I applied to so far so it really sucks. In previous threads I noticed people have found out earlier so it really makes me wonder what's so different about this cycle (specifically for the OC campus). Hopefully the change is that they increase the number of students they accept.

@warsh26 hmm guess it makes more sense that way. But you're right, previous cycles definitely got it before the 10week mark. Wish they would consider more seats for the OC if they're having a hard time deciding. Cuz OC typically only has 26 per cohort so far

I'm feeling pretty disappointed about the delayed decisions considering the Spring term starts so soon in January. I personally don't have to worry about moving or housing but I know some people might have to and it just seems like they're not giving us enough time to plan ahead. Its hard to figure out what the next few months or even year will look like so I'm really hoping they don't keep us waiting until late November/early December... in the mean time I'm just going to start preparing for the worst case scenario just in case.

I'm on the same boat. I will have to move IF i got accepted, but only have less than a month to look for a place to move in considering they do not offer on campus housing.

I'll just be applying to other schools now instead of waiting for decisions.

Hi macyymace, I know it sucks waiting for the decision, especially when there is no set date to consider as a decision date.

I am also planning to take TEAS soon. How did your TEAS go? If you could give any advice on how to prepare for TEAS that would be great.

Hey 5AAB,

The TEAS wasn't too bad! The thing is, i only studied for two full days (dont do this haha) bc i got invited to take it about a week prior and i didn't study before that because the program i applied to is on a lottery system. A lot of people mention they run out of time for the reading portion so just make sure you're aware of the time. I'm fortunate that i took anatomy, physio, and micro very recently (spring and summer 2017). I used the mometrix ati secrets book. It was helpful in terms of practice. But i felt like the science portion of the actual test was a little more specific than the study book i had.. i recommend purchasing the practice tests on the ATI TEAS' website. There is form a and b.. i only took one but thought it was pretty similar to the actual test and indicative of how you'll do.

Good luck on yours! When are you taking it?
