USF MSN CNL non nurse spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone. I was searching for a thread but could not find one so I am starting this discussion topic for USF MSN non nurse spring 2018 applications.

Lets all discuss our stats like GPA, volunteer experience, etc. I have a decent prerequisite GPA right now. I have registered for Micro and psychology and will be taking in fall. My undertgrad GPA is 3.15 in computer applications (not that good). After working in customer service I was no longer interested in computers so decided to change my major.

Lets start this journey together and good luck to everyone.

I wonder the same. But I think there's only one place to check and mine only lets me open the app.. No additional info on there...

Yeah..I clicked on application and it shows me when each application step (resume, personal statement etc) was submitted/received. thats all it shows me! I wasn't able to click on anything else....

Hello.

I currently have a 3.5 Prereq GPA and 3.2 Bachelor GPA. 80 hours volunteering at a senior center (giving back to the community). 80 hours volunteering at the ER department. I am a current caregiver with 3 months experience. I had 2 professors who I tutored for over the course of an academic school year write me a letter of recommendation.

Those are my stats.

I was rejected Oct 31. and I am surprised to have been rejected? I thought I was a competitive applicant but im moving forward now. I'll be retaking classes to improve my prereq GPA at community colleges and will get my CNA license.

Hope you guys get in. goodluck!

Hi Phambo,

Don't feel down. this is my third cycle applying to programs. Last year i was denied from samuel merritt and usf. It was tough, it makes you feel like you're not good enough. Don't think that. I met with a counselor at samuel merritt, and they told me that they had to deny a lot of great applicants, because there is not enough space. It made me want to try harder. I also felt the same, i thought i was a good applicant. I applied last year while I was still working on my degree. I graduated community college with 2 associate degrees majoring in pre-nursing, and allied health. my pre-req gpa is 3.3 and undergrad gpa 3.7. i did have 2 C's on my transcript but after being rejected i took some advice and retook them. i just suffered through a summer quarter and knocked it out and replaced the C's with A's. i transferred to get my bachelor's in health science pre-clinical. i worked as an EMT for a year and a half getting patient experience. at the same time i did an internship with kaiser through my major, and volunteered with kaiser for 5 years. Now i have graduated and work full time as a surgery scheduler coordinator for a county hospital. i am bilingual in spanish, and multi-cultural. I feel like i am a great applicant, but then again there's so many people applying it makes it harder for them to make the decision. don't give up, re-apply and continue with your health care experience. we're all in this together.

when you go to USF click on apply now, and it will ask you to start a new application or log in to see your status. click login to see your status, then it will pull up your application. to the right in big bold letters it should say "submitted". When i was denied last year, it changed to "decision available" and when you click the link it takes you to the denial letter.

Hi Phambo,

Can you tell us around what time you received your notification? Was it in the morning of afternoon?

ok. I have been looking at the correct place. It definitely still says submitted.

I just spoke with my friend who was accepted last semester at the SF campus. She said she received a call first, then an email, then her status changed on the application page.

Anyone hear back?

Haven't heard anything yet :(

Not yet :/ I truly hope USF starts informing us of the decisions today. All this waiting is tough! Will post if I hear anything!

Haven't heard anything yet :(

Nothing yet for me either. Sigh...

Hi guys!

I emailed Erin (the graduate admissions coordinator) asking when we'll hear back and she basically said the same thing as everyone has been hearing.

"Decisions for the program are typically out around 10 weeks after the deadline. Your application is still currently under faculty review. Once a decision has been made, you will receive an email asking you to log into your application to view your decision."

I asked her specifically for the OC campus but I'm pretty sure this applies to both campuses. It hasn't even hit the 10th week mark from the OC deadline so I'm assuming it won't be for a couple weeks till we hear back :(.

Omg lol thank you for the update! I guess the OC peeps are going to have to wait until Thanksgiving.. I hope the decisions are something we are thankful for.... Good luck to the main campus applicants, hope they release yours this week!!
