Hi everyone! Starting a thread for the applicants who applied to the University of San Francisco ME-MSN Spring 2022 program at the SF location! Comment with any questions and/or updates! Good luck everyone! I hope we all get in! ❤️

Hello everyone! I hope we do all get in. It is a journey to becoming a nurse, but there is no quitting for such a fulfilling career. From what I hear, they take 10 weeks after deadline for decisions. So we should find out by the second week of November.

Friends,
I applied last year and was wait-listed. I want to work at the VA so the Sacramento campus VA BSN is also attractive, but you can only apply to one program per semester and my fiance works in SF so Sacramento would be extremely difficult logistically. Fingers crossed I get in this time. 4 years in pre-requisites and applications is too dang long for something in such demand!

Hey! Anyone have any admission updates yet? I was also waitlisted last year.
Can't wait to hear from them, super nervous! Good luck everyone!

Were you able to get any feedback on how to strengthen your application?
Do you have any medical experience
It was pretty uninspiring feedback...
We would suggest selecting the two (2) Letter of Recommendation writer who can speak best to your abilities, experiences, and potential as a graduate nursing student. (Please note that recommenders do not have to be from a "clinical setting"--many of our applicants have recommenders from academic, or other professional settings.) The only thing we would advise against is choosing recommenders who are personal or family friends.
Sounds like they were referring to your recommendations. Who wrote your recommendation letters?
Do you mind me asking what were your stats? General GPA, prerequisite GPA, any clinical experience?
this is my first time applying so I’m not exactly sure how I’m holding up with other applicants. I think my general GPA is pretty low probably a 3.3 from over 10 years ago and my prerequisites are like three A’s and two B’s and 3 years of medical experience.

Hey guys,
I just found out I was waitlisted. Does anyone know if there’s a good chance to get off the waitlist?
Hi! I was also waitlisted. All we can do is wait.

One recommendation was my anatomy professor, excellent writer. Now he is a professor at Samuel Merritt (which I'm also applying to).
General GPA was also 3.3 from 10 years ago and all As one A- for pre-reqs. No medical experience except for a CNA license. I start volunterring for the VA next week so I'm hoping to get a recommendation out of them for the next round.
Their 'black box' sucks. Samuel Merritt gives you feedback on how to improve if you didn't get in. I find it unethical for USFCA to be silent on the matter. But hey, they're private they can do what they want.

I was also waitlisted! There’s another thread and majority of them were also waitlisted and three of them were accepted ? I hope we all hear back soon????
Does anyone know if we are able to start reapplying for the January 15th deadline? Or do we have to wait to hear back first. The only thing I’m worried about is giving my recommenders enough notice.
