Am starting this thread to see how many of us are applying to the USA DNP program in fall 2015. I will be graduating from Georgetown University in August and plan to proceed to DNP right away. My FNP program is very well organized and am very well prepared to be an FNP. I already have a couple of job offers, and I credit my program for the offers. I would have loved to go to another top tier school for my DNP but the the student loans are humongous and as I mentioned earlier, I feel well prepared for the workforce. USA is almost free for me considering the 10s of thousands that I pay at GU. I still highly recommend the GU program. Back to USA DNP, who is applying? Am sending out my application this week. For anyone looking into it, the deadline for fall 2015 is feb 15th.

Hi,
I intend to send my supplemental application in by next week. I submitted my primary application via nursingCAS already for the fall semester of 2015. I am applying for the BSN-DNP pathway for the psychiatric NP track. I graduated with my BSN from UT Arlington in 2013 (online). I intend to attend part time since I work full-time as a psych nurse but will probably have to switch work to part time down the road. Am worried about setting up my own clinical rotations since I can't do it at the facility that I work at but have to get in first! Lol!!
Nursing girl. I hope you managed to send your app. My supplemental has been received. I never posted the transcript request forms to my previous colleges so that they could attach the forms to my transcripts. I hope that will not cause a delay.
I keep procrastinating to send my supplemental application but will do it this weekend. I called NursingCAS about not attaching the transcript request form to my transcripts & I was told that it was just to help them with attaching your transcripts with your primary application but it is not a problem if you don't. Good thing because I didn't. I am still missing one of my transcripts though under the status bar on their website. Contacted the school & was told that it was mailed out already. Will follow up. Good luck!
Nursing girl,
That's so helpful to know that the transcript form is not an absolute.
How long ago did you submit your primary app? Mine has been almost two weeks. They haven't received any of the transcripts yet. I hope you get around sending the supp app.
I submitted mine on 1/9. I will say that I called up NursingCAS a couple of times asking if they had received my transcripts & was told that as long as they got to them before 2/1 they will update my status with the date it came in. For instance I called on 1/23, checked my status online & saw that it was updated with a transcript with the date 1/15. I also called the schools to verify that my transcripts had being sent just in case something was missing like my consent etc.

Please excuse the hijack but why can't you do clinicals at the facility where you work?
Hi Jules A,
Unfortnately I work at a facility whereby the nearby colleges have a contract with them so I am not allowed to do clinicals there even if it is in a different area & not on the unit where I work. That's something that I am worried about in the future at least till I have been in the program for a year though it states on USA's website to start locating clinical sites early.

Bummer! Two of the hospitals were I work only required an ok from the unit manager. Is this something you could run by someone who has a bit of pull, maybe a Doc who really likes you? It would seem counter intuitive to not "grow your own", imo.
Good luck.
I can always ask again but have a coworker who's doing a DNP program & was told no for three consecutive years. She has to do her clinicals elsewhere. Her husband who's in a DNP program & who doesn't work there was also told no. The way I see it, will ask & go from there to somewhere else.
Hi everyone,
This is the email that I got from NursingCAS today regarding my transcripts. Many of you may already know this but wanted to share in case someone else doesn't. I have a transcript that has been missing from my status. This transcript was mailed from a college that I attended at Upstate New York on 1/15/2015 & still hasn't arrived at NursingCAS so have been following up with them. Don't know if the bad weather up there has anything to do with it as the lady on the phone at NursingCAS said but I called up the school to resend it & was told that that was done on 2/2/2015. All am saying is following with the schools & NursingCAs because they keep saying that this is their busiest days & you don't want to miss the deadline because your transcripts didn't arrive there prior to 2/15. Good luck to everyone!
"Thanks for contacting NursingCAS. Generally, it takes about 7-10 business days from the date your transcript was
received for it to be processed by NursingCAS. Please continue to monitor the
status of your transcript via the status menu on your online application. These
updates occur in real-time. If it has been significantly longer than ten
business days, you may want to request to have your transcript resent."
Am hoping that they are going to receive my transcripts on time. All my transcripts have not been received.
