Hello, I'm either looking for information or a place to look for information :)
I'll be finishing my rn program soon and I want to move to aus. I checked the new board website for aus and it may as well be in a dIfferent language.
A little background - my program is an associates degree and I will be an RN. I also have 7 years aide experience in the icu's and ER.
What are my options? Will the board recognize my degree and let me practice? Or will I have to complete more schooling?
If they won't recognize it am I able to work as something else while I finish my bsn? I realize there are really no aides but I'd like to stay in healthcare.
Staying in the USA and finishing my bsn is an option but more of a last resort. I've been holding a long distance relationship for a few years now and would like to relocate sooner rather than later.
Thank you! Again, any info or a better place to find info would he great. I've read a lot of posts on here an I'm getting incredibly mixed answers depending on the situations and they seem to be a bit different to mine.

On what basis do you plan to move to Australia? ie. work visa? spouse visa? This will dictate whether you can work and in what jobs you can work (ie. you won't get a work visa to go and work as an aide). There have been ADNs successfully licensed in Australia as RNs, they have posted here if you try a search. Maybe the poster was lunarn (straining my memory..)?
The best thing would be to check the AHPRA registration board website - there is now national registration in Australia rather than state based.

Looks like the basic idea is - it depends if your program is decided to be "substantially equivalent" to the Australian bachelor of nursing degree. You will have to send in your info on this form to see:

Thank you :)
