Hi you all -
I'm a nursing student and CNA trying to get a hospital job. So far no luck I have been working at a prompt care facility for a year, have my CNA and have not been able to get a hospital job yet. Although I have degrees, they are completely unrelated to nursing.
So does anyone have advice? I like my job but wonder if I should transition to something else to improve my chances of getting a hospital job, or if I should just stay put and keep plugging away. I already redid my resume. I was really crushed when I didn't get a job where we did our clinicals. I thought for sure I'd have at least a shot at it although we only did one rotation there so far.
Any advice is much appreciated...I hope everyone has a great spring semester!

Keep applying. Put out lots of apps and keep your fingers crossed.
If at all possible, go to the sites and introduce yourself. A zillion online resumes can make it hard to stand out from the crowd, but putting your face and personality behind it can be very helpful.

I probably put in close to 100 applications to the hospital where I work. Sometimes it's about who you know. Maybe follow back up and talk to the nursing director. If you know nurses there maybe see if they can talk to the director for you.
