Hello,
Not too long ago I posted some news which was really great and exiting for me, my new OB position at a phenomenal Maternity dept locally here in Chicago.
As a recently commissioned reserve Army Nurse corpos officer I thought I had a year before going active duty. I was wrong.
This weekend I found out that likely I will be going at the end of the summer.
It took me a bit to readjust my future plans but, have now and am enthused for this, now.
I emailed the HR were I was hired to inform her that my date to ship is at the end of July. They hired me for a start date of June 5th but, I do not think that it would be appropriate for me to start, even as an assistant, if I will be leaving in a matter of months.
You guys were great and enthusiastic and I hope to visit here at allnurses thorughout my military nursing experience, (knocking on wood for successful NCLEX and all that first!)

I do remember all you have told us. I certainly wish you the very best in your future career endeavors and hope you will keep us up to date on how things go for you!!!
PS: from one vet to a soon-to-be-vet, thank you for entering service to our country.
SmilingBlueEyes,
Saluting you...
I appreciate all the advice throughout the last few years while I've been "thinking out loud" to figure out all the choices and changes that a student nurse and pre-student nurse goes through!
That goes to so many other people here too, (TraumaRUs and JaxiaKiley and others!)
All this "anticipatory" anxst and concern is about to settle in for some new roles, finally. Phew!!
Hooah,
p.s. viking, thank you for the fair winds and smooth seas wish
