:monkeydance: Has anyone worked @ UW medical center? What's your experience like as an RN working on the units? Ratios?

I haven't worked there, but I heard today in a presentation that it is the only Magnet hospital in the state....that may help.

Good luck!

I'm working there right now on a travel assignment. I find the nurses to be very supportive and passionate about their work. Orientation is very thorough. They use Pyxis system for meds and IV stuff. Management seems supportive. I can see why they are a magnet hospital.

I am working at the U on a 13 week travel assignment. I am in the Tele/cardiothoracic unit. (5 NE)

The ratio is 3:1 occ 4:1 the staff nurses are very supportive and nice to work with. I have noticed that management does the usual favoritism and political stuff that goes on everywhere I have ever worked. But all in all it is a good place to work.

It is a teaching hospital so there are all levels of residents and fellows etc but it has been a fun place to work.
