Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

hello!!i have already applied to UTA and now just waiting for my credits to tranfer; i just want to know if anyone has gone through the program and if i even have a chance to get it; i attended West coast university and could not afford it any longer but i did have a 3.8 there. i have 3 c in my pre req courses and 1 c in chemistry in my science pre req courses; all my other grades are high a's and b; micro-b a&p1-a a&p2-b and chem-c :(; my other c's are in stats; literature's gov;

do i stand a chance; i have been studying for my hesi and been getting almost 90's and 100;s on practice exams and take it this friday; i am looking into getting hired into children's as well soon

i am extremely anxious and just wanted to get some inside information. I have heard they accept people with c's.

I went through this online 15 month program and graduated over a year ago.Like any nursing program, UTA is selective in their candidate so good grades are definitely to your advantage. My pre-req courses were mostly A's and a couple of B's. I knew people that had gotten accepted with a below 3.0 GPA. I don't know if that depends on the amount/quality of the applicants each semester. I was wait listed initially and then offered a spot in the online program a month or so after offer letters had been sent.

Scoring well on HESI and working at a partnered hospital will definitely help also. If you want to increase your GPA I would focus on repeating science courses (that's if you want to; you can always chance it with c's)

Best of luck.

I am just finishing up at UTA right now and will graduate next semester. I do know of several people that were admitted under a provisional basis so bring up their GPAs, but I think your GPA will get you in without a problem. Good luck and be sure to let us know!

Thank you!!!

Planning to apply for spring 2018. Do you know if working PRN for JPS will provide the benefit for consideration in the admissions process for UTA?

yes it will count

Do you know around what day do they send letters of acceptance? I have just been accepted to TCC, but UTA is my first option. Just want to plan ahead. Thanks everyone!!!
