Bad communication from advisors

This has been the worst experience for me with these advisors. They do not answer emails in a timely manner if at all. This is very unprofessional and just downright lazy.

I emailed my advisor twice once was 3 weeks ago and the other was two weeks ago. No answer AT ALL!

I am doing this entire thing distance learning and it is proving to be difficult. How do you all get in touch with them and get an answer?

I would state this is an urgent matter wait a few days. If I have not received a response I would then email again this time cc their supervisor, then I would start going over their heads. I have no problem going to someone's supervisor after I have made multiple attempts to obtain the information I need to move ahead with my education. This is like a full time job, you should treat it as such. Be kind and firm. I start out by saying I recognize you are very busy but I need this information and not getting the information holds me back, I am not able to move forward. One time I emailed daily for 5 days before they answered. They apologized, I on the other hand tried really hard to get the information elsewhere from that point forward.

I think it is a new culture to not get back to people unless it is so urgent or we make a squeak-squeaky wheel gets the grease!. To be fair I think todays workers we are so swamped with our tasks we forget sight of internal/external customer service, really no excuse just my observation.
