Hey just wondering if anyone else has applied to the mepn program for next fall? I have but don't think my chances are great. I hold a cumulative 3.2 G.P.A., although all A's and two Bs in the prerequisites. I also competed 190 units so I've taken very hard science classes and hope they take that into account, I also graduated with deans honors and a 3.8 from with my bachelors. I also do many extracurriculars and have worked as an emt and an ED tech to hopefully compensate for my below average G.P.A. what are your guys stats and if you'd like to share what other schools are you applying to?

Hello,
I think with your grades in the pre-reqs and healthcare experience you definitely have a fair chance. I was talking to a current student and she said she had a GPA on the lower end when she was accepted and that the program does review very holistically.
Are you saying that you have a 3.2 cGPA, but had a 3.8 GPA the semester you graduated? I'm a little confused about that.
I have a cumulative 3.3 GPA but I graduated with a 3.8 GPA from the university I received my bachelors from. Also my prerequisites courses that the school requires I achieved a 3.7 GPA.
Is the 3.3 cumulative GPA from some worse grades before your university then (community college or transfer) or from post-bacc classes after university? Generally grad schools want to see an upward trend so they know you can handle the rigorous material. If you have that, awesome. But either way, I think you have a fair shot. Your GPA during your bachelors is good, you have healthcare experience, and your grades in the pre-reqs are good. They take everything into serious consideration including personal statement and resume.

Yes, it wa genuinely from my year as a freshman doing civil engineering then covid hit and doing online calculus, physics, and chemistry was so hard. I spent more time learning how to use the online tools than studying the content and my grades took a hit. But I've also taken 200 units roughly and they've only gone up, including taking those classes again once they were offered in person and getting B's and A's. I just hope I'm a viable candidate, I just want a shot getting in.

Hey Joshua, I'm in the exact same boat as you. Nursing CAS GPA 3.1 and Bachelors 3.5 with department honors. I'm scared too. Have you applied anywhere else?

I applied to university of Columbia and UVA, so all very hard programs but again, the community college route is most times better, as historically nursing has been a trade(still is) which community colleges had long before other established universities. My reason for pursuing these "prestigious" institutions is solely due to how fast they are! University of Columbia is a 15 month full time program and San Diego is a 20 month. UVA is a 24 but they genuinely do have a good CNL program along with so much financial aid, my little brother(out of state) pays roughly 15k a year! I'm hoping to get into one of them, but if not I'll do the community college route to get my RN!

I applied this year. I'm a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. All my pre-reqs are A's. I have a Masters Degree with a 4.0 GPA, Bachelors GPA: 3.25, Post Bac GPA: 3.76. Overall GPA: 3.82

Did you apply anywhere else, your stats are really good! Plus as a CLS you have great experience, I'm sure you'll have no issue getting in anywhere. Is this your first year applying? My bachelors is a little over 3.8 but I also got an A in all my prerequisites except physio, got a B. Your cumulative is way higher than mine too, as mines a 3.3/3.4, I'm jealous!! I hope you get in!

I think your stats are pretty decent as well. Funny enough I applied last year but did not get in. I think I had failed to course match properly. This time around, I ensured I did the exact prereqs listed from the suggested schools. I only applied to this program.
This is the only program I applied to as well! I'm pretty dead set on this one. Stats are 3.1 GPA cumulative, degree GPA 3.5, all A's in pre-reqs and not much on the healthcare experience but I'm still praying and hoping. Good luck to us all!

Oh gosh, I matched the wrong sociology course(an upper elective one, not the intro), should I call them and ask if they can update it since I am unable to anymore? I hope it doesn't make a difference!
