How long does this program take to complete. My phone rep told me 15-18 months, but I have heard it could take longer.
Did anyone here do this program? How long did it take you?
Did you double up on classes? Financial aid told me if I doubled up, my loans wouldn't pay for it.
Thanks,

Hi...
I just finished my program at the UoP. It is a great program. I learned more than I thought I would. It is a lot of paper to write. I had a paper to write every weekend, but you get use to it. I am now starting CRNA school in Jan 09 so the program is recognized by other schools. I double once and I had to pay for it from my pocket. Financial aid will not cover the second class. Don't double any class until to get use to your classes, and build a good system. I enjoyed the classes very much. It took me almost about 18-20 months and I stopped a few times. You go to class at your own convenience. The classes are only 5 weeks long. The first and last week are pretty easy and laid back. I hope that helps. Let me know.
Thanks :)
I start Tuesday, and I'm anxious to get started. The sooner I get my BSN, the sooner I can join the Air Force!
Thanks for your kind reply!

Hi I'm starting the uop online bsn program on October 23th. I was hoping anyone might have any tips for me as to how to prepare for it. I have never taken any online courses before and I have no idea as to what to expect. Does anyone have a syllabus that I can possible see from a previous class just to get an Idea of what to expect? I'm also looking for a study buddy if anyone out there is interested?
Good luck everyone!!

Be organized. Set time aside every day to work on your program. Be clear with your learning teams. Do the assigned readings. I use to put aside Saturday am to work on my projects. Don't be afraid to contact your facilitator if you have any questions.
Enjoy the program, I got my MSN and enjoyed the program.

You do not need a study buddy. You just need to read the materials, participate in your class discussion, write your paper and be ORGANIZED. I enjoyed it very much. I work nights so I do my participation, print my articles for my papers, and research while at work if I am not too busy. That way I have 3-4 full days of participation. I did my papers on Sunday and/or Mondays. Some facilitators have different days for assignment. For the most part, they were due on Mondays. I have learned a lot and meet some great nurses from all over. Good luck.
