Hello, I live in California and Ive been considering trying to apply more out of state in order to escape the steep competition pool here. And I was wondering what is the average gpa that Oklahoma accepts?

Go there, and then in the column on the right under counselor links there are admission stats for 2010 and 2009. 2011 should be posted soon. That way you can see average GPA of students who applied as well as average GPA of students who were accepted for each campus and each program.

I'm an OU ABSN student and I recommend it!

OU is a great program, and I just submitted my application for the ABSN program for summer 2012. My only caution is that they give a LOT of preference to in state applicants. I applied last year as an out of state applicant, and I was denied because of my residency status. I was also in the process of finishing the pre-req's when I applied, and even though I would have been finished with them by the time the program started, that was another strike against me. Now I'm applying as an in-state applicant with all of the pre-req's completed. And if you're considering the traditional BSN check out the OCCC Collaborative program as well. Just things to consider when you're applying--best of luck!

So uohsc will take instate students with prereqs in progression than an out of state student?

I got the impression that the students who were admitted to the ABSN were all in state AND had all of their pre-req's completed at the time that they submitted their application. The waitlisted students were a combination of in-state students with either a low GPA or still had classes in progress. I believe that there were a few students who were waitlisted from out of state but they had all of their pre-req's finished prior to the spring semester.

For the traditional BSN I was waitlisted but I did not receive a space. And my waitlist status for that program was based on the fact that I was an out of state resident with pre-req's outstanding (all of my pre-req's were completed by the end of the Spring semester). Also the way the GPA is calculated for the accelerated is different than the way they calculate the GPA for the traditional program.

oh ok, thank you
