Just wondering if anyone has applied or currently a SRNA at the University Of Miami? Looking for Feedback on the program.

I applied, got in, but decided to go elsewhere. Let me know if you have questions about the interview process.
What made you chose another program? Do you know how many students they accept? Ot sure how competitive it is because it's surrounding by Barry and fiu
I'm from the Midwest so I chose a better program that's closer to home. A CRNA I work with vaguely told me to avoid Florida schools - she didn't really elaborate why.
I think they admit 20ish students. The interview was pretty laid back. There were four of us that day interviewing. They gave a presentation on the program, gave us a tour of the sim labs and facilities, then had individual interviews. I believe there were four interviewers, and they asked about a challenging patient I had taken care of recently. Basically, whatever you respond with, make sure you know that topic in and out. I work in MICU / SICU so I stayed away from neuro. They asked about disease process, how we treated, meds / mechanism of action / how they work, etc - pretty standard CRNA school interview stuff. Nothing too crazy.
They also asked about what you would want to potentially do for your capstone project.
Not bad. I'm from Chicago. But working in nyc

Any updates will be appreciated!!
No updates here. after doing some research they are at the bottom of my list. To expensive and not enough cases to go around with all the residents.

I applied as well and got accepted. Yes, they are expansive thats for sure but in terms of clinical experiences I spoke to 4 different students over the phone that are in the program now. They all stated that clinical experience is amazing and that they NEVER had to compete with anyone. The faculty is very supportive and they make sure that you succeed. Their sim lab is state of the art when I compared it to couple other universities. I have my MSN already and was going to do post master originally but decided to go to UM because I truly believed that when compared to post master option in less than 8 more months I will have my DNP. I was also accepted at 2 other universities… hope this helps
Congrats on getting accepted. My cousin did not have a good experience at Miami, so I'm going to take his word for it when he tells me to stay away. The cost is just to much to ignore when there are program in that area that are 20 to 30k cheaper. Keep us updated on your progress. Congrats again.

What did hehe say waswas bad about um?
Than you. From what I have seen when I compared UM from other 4 universities, I like it the best. I know program is little bet too much in terms of money but students that we met their were all happy. I spoke to other students over the phone as well the only issues that all of them had is high tuition other than that everyone said program is amazing and they have great clinical experience which for me is really important. We shall see. Their class size is much smaller when compared to Barry or other schools in the area.
