University of Northwestern- St. Paul

Has anyone attended the University of Northwestern- St. Paul?? I'm interviewing with them next week. I'd love to know what their cohort sizes are, and what anyone's general impressions were of the school itself!

just curious if you are enrolled in this program? I'm considering it :)

Hello,

I happened to stumble across your post and hope to give you (or others) thinking to attend this program an idea of what to expect. While this is a program not for the faint of heart, I did complete a BSN degree in a very short amount of time. Things you should know, it's very religious (plan on signing an agreement not to drink EtOH, even if you are over 21. Taking religion courses outside of your nursing curriculum, even if you are Post-Bac. Being required to attend chapel a certain number of times a week). The program is rigorous, it's not uncommon to have several (or many...) students "drop" or fail to be held back to repeat the semester. Clinical's in the past have been very good (hospital setting), unsure of what clinical's are currently like.

As a student at UNW, you are required to purchase a meal plan. This was an unexpected expense and something that was not mentioned until the tuition bill came (many of us tried fighting this, only to get our amounts slightly reduced..). While it is challenging, overall it is a quick program to attain a BSN nursing degree. There are some wonderful professors who really do care about your success. Had I taken more time to research other programs in the area, I probably would have thought more critically about attending.
