Some members did not receive emails about the interview timeline, while others shared updates from admissions about the interview scheduling process. There is anticipation and hope for good news regarding interview calls and accreditation in the coming days.

Hey everyone! Thought I would start a thread for UNLVs new program!

They'll most likely get accredited and want to keep in the loop 🙂

I am just wondering for those of us that have not heard back what are you guys planning to do if you hear back Monday on one day's notice for an interview? I assume we all work full time here. Do we think they're going to move interview dates up by a week? It's very short notice and I feel that we would be forced to call out sick for such short notice

Yeah I wish we heard Friday so we had the weekend to prepare. I am scheduled to work all of the interview days and plan to call out haha. I think it would be tough to move them bc of grad orientation being in a month. But I can empathize with them waiting to do them until the COA results were in. With it being a new program I'm sure there will be some turbulence along the way.

I'm fortunate that I'm part of a 6/2 program. Basically I work 6 pay periods and have 2 pay periods off paid. So luckily this is my month off until middle of July. None the less, doesn't give a lot of time to prepare for the interview if calls are still made Monday.

I've never heard of this set up! Sounds nice. What part of the country do they do this at?

Did anyone else get a rejection ? I'm just amazed at how only one person was rejected so far

Truthfully I've been loosely preparing this whole time just in case. I'm scheduled to work 2/3 days they've allotted for interviews, but I'm willing to do what it takes to get the time. If that means asking to go in late or calling in sick, I'm fine with it. But I also have a really understanding management and good relationship at work. I'm blessed for sure.

5y CICU level 1 trauma, big academic hospital

ACLS/BLS/PALS

CCRN

charge, preceptor...all that leadership stuff!

Any CRNA shadowing? Maybe a stronger personal statement?

Well have no doubt you are guaranteed an interview in almost all other schools. Keep the faith!!

So does it come down to letters of reference? Extra stuff like volunteerism, publications, committees?

There are so many qualified folks out there. It's fascinating what's 'in' and what's not. How can I work this in to a doctoral project?!

...I also see acceptances whose stats are not *perfect*--which is good, because it's not just the letter grade, etc., that makes the clinician! I mean, there's charge nurses, preceptors, etc., that I wouldn't necessarily want doing my anesthesia...

And do they watch these forums like:

Oh yes!
40 hours of shadowing!

Volunteer and mentor future and student nurses in my community chapter.

I had my personal statement sent to 2 CRNAs who stated it was a strong essay. IDK!
