University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass) ABSN 2024

Published

Hello,

I got accepted by UMass Amherst ABSN program. Is there anyone in the program now? I have not heard much about this program, and I couldn't find many postings about this program. They were mostly UMass Boston.

Is the program good, good faculty and administration?I have read so many postings that ABSN programs are not as good as traditional. It makes me worry about this program. Have you heard anything about this program and would you mind sharing?

Thank you!

Hey! I just got accepted to the program for Fall 2024 as well. I can't really say from experience, but I've worked with multiple RNs who went through the same program and they have shared mostly positive things.

I think like many nursing programs, your experience is what you make of it. You'll always have professors you don't get along with, inconvenient clinical assignments, etc. What matters most is that this program will leave you prepared to take the NCLEX. One coworker I had told me that the students who had the most trouble were the ones who complained a lot and made an issue out of everything. Overall, everyone I have spoken to about it enjoyed the program just fine.

@skelegrrrl congratulations! Good to know the program is okay enough!
