University Community Hospital

Published

Hi. Do any of you know how it is working at this hospital? Especially in their ICU's? My friend is moving to Tampa area and asked me about this hospital and I don't know much about them. Any info appreciated. Such as Would you work their? Do you like their ICU? and stuff like that. Thanks in advance.

It has 2 locations: Carollwood and Fletcher. That one on Fletcher is main one, it is OK there (not best hospital in Tampa, but OK, also depends on the floor). carollwood is very small and I personally do not like it. I do not know anything about ICU there

Thanks. I think she is interested in the one on Fletcher because it will be near where she will be living.

I heard UCH is not the best hospital to work for. BUT, A person will gain great experience.

Supposedly in New Tampa or Wesley Chapel, they are building a new hospital. Zephyrllis was hiring.

Specializes in EMS, ER.

Is UCH a teaching hospital? I know it's right across the street from USF?

I have no ideal to be honest. Maybe someone who works or has worked their will gives us a better ideal of this hospital.

Specializes in Medical-Surgical/Orthopedics/Urology.

UGH I HATE UCH. They have the worst triage I've ever been to! A good friend of mine worked there as PCT of a month or something, and she said it was horrible. They didn't have enough equipment, so they had to look everywhere for that. She quit as soon as she could. I've been to their ER twice, only because i stayed on campus at USF and it was the closest hospital, and it took forever for them to see me. I had a really bad UTI, and they made me sit in the waiting room with my own urine specimen!!! I was urinating blood for crying out loud! To tell you the truth I don't even think they tested it...so my opinion of the nasty hospital is very, very poor!
