Hey!!

Has anyone attempted this program yet? I’ve been accepted for Fall 2020 and was looking for some feedback ?

Hi all.  I just received my acceptance letter for the LPN to BSN program. I will start Aug 2021. Is there anyone that's also starting this program in the fall?

Hello. I just applied for the program myself. How long did it take for them to review your transcripts and notify you of your acceptance?

Hi. It took about three weeks for the whole process.

Specializes in Occupational Medicine.

Hello,

I’m starting this program in August and wondered if anyone on the thread has previously started and what the courses were like?

I have a friend who works at the VA hospital in Houston Texas. She works with a group of ladies who started the program last year. According to her they have nothing but favorable things to say about the program.  I’ll try to reach out to her tomorrow to see if she can give me any more information. One thing that she did mention is that depending on where you live the school they have clinical sites already set up for you. Unfortunately here in Houston it’s up to us to hind our own clinical site.  I’m really not worried about it at this point because I’m sure as the program grows I’m sure the school will secure additional clinical sites.

I would really appreciate any feedback or information that you could find out and share. I’m fortunate in reference to clinical rotations, as I live in the NWA area and work at one of the local hospitals in our community so that’s not one of my concerns, but it is a concern in deciding the course load I should plan on taking. I’ve been attending school full-time and working full-time as a manger but I’m worried that 4 classes a semester while in the program may be to much to juggle. I know with any class I’ll have to devote a large amount of time to studying but would really like advice from someone with experience in the program, if possible. I’m prepared to step back from work if necessary in order to focus on school but before making any rash decisions I thought I’d reach out to this group first.

I started taking nursing courses this past Spring semester and they’re pretty much doable. Most classes are split in 8 weeks except for the big courses. I had taken 4 classes last Spring and I also work full time. I still haven’t done any clinical hours since in NJ they don’t have that many affiliations, but so far its good.

Hi! Is anyone starting the lpn to BSN program in Spring of 2022 and is located in the DFW area?

Also, anyone from Texas that is already in the program can share some insight on the program? Like class workload? Clinical sites? What classes should you take first?

you can also email me [email protected]

Hello Samantha!  Hope all is well.  I just started the LVN to BSN program in August 2021.  The classes are 8 weeks long. Right now I’m just taking 1 class, Introduction to Professional Nursing. The class is pretty simple.  One weekly discussion board post, one response to a classmates post, one paper, one group project and one professional resume.

I was not aware they had a nursing program in Dallas.  Where can that information be found?

So, Texas is one of the states where you can go to university of Arkansas and do the lpn to BSN program online and do your clinicals wherever you are located. I’m located in the DFW area.

I’m sorry I sort of misread your initial message.  I thought you were saying that they were starting a program in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. My apologies at any rate one of the first classes that you have to take is introduction to professional nursing and I’m taking that right now as far as the clinical sites are located I have friends who are a little bit further along in the program. Unfortunately you have to find your own clinical site. One friend has told me they give you a list and it’s up to you to call around. I do know they have a few hospitals in the Dallas Fort Worth area, East Texas, Jacksonville Texas that they already have relationships with. I’m in Houston and unfortunately none of the hospitals in Houston have relationships with the school just yet. That is some of the frustration my friends are experiencing.

Once you apply to the program and submit all your transcripts a counselor will review everything and let you know if there are classes that you need to take prior to you enrolling in the nursing program. You will then be assigned a coach as well as a counselor. Your counselor will meet with you via Microsoft office for a face-to-face. At that time she will go over suggested classes with you depending on whether or not you’re going part time or full time. You will then enroll in the class accordingly. One thing that you have to do is an orientation which is almost like a class. You have 20 assignments that you have to do and basically these assignments kind of prepare you for taking online classes.  If you ask me it’s a way for the University to make extra money because the orientation because you are  charged for it And it has nothing to do with nursing.

Oh okay. I have intro to nursing. I don’t know if they will accept that. Do you know what is the shortest amount of time you can complete this program. I’ve heard two years.

I have all my general education courses and intro to nursing, pathophysiology, and pharmacology ( I don’t know if those are accepted)

well that sucks. A whole extra class to “prepare” you for online. I definitely agree with you. It’s extra money. I’ve been accepted to the university but the tiles haven’t appeared on uaconnect

I’m going to ask about clinical sites here in the DFW area. I don’t want to start a program if I’m going to have a lot of trouble finding clinical sites.

thank you for responding!!
