i feel like...a giant blob. i was soooo dissapointed because all of the fun and colorful scrubs as well as the colorful shoes are not allowed in my department (er).
plain royal blue, or deep pink, or black. and shoes must be black. scrub jackets must adhere to these colors as well.
i've never felt so unglamorous or more frumpy than i do now. besides, black shoes don't go with royal blue scrubs.
anyway, it's funny because it's not like it really distinguishes me as a nurse outside of my unit. i mean housekeeping, the cafeteria workers, and other non patient care providers wear scrubs as well.
it's not that big of a deal. but i feel like a slob. it's funny how when i wore the "fun scrubs" i felt more professional than i do now. of course it's a state of mind...
are uniform scrub policies common in your unit or in your facility?

Where I was just hired on the only departments who have set uniforms are OB and OR. THeir scrubs are provided for them. OB's are purple, and OR's are pale blue.
I did clinicals at this facility, they can wear any scrubs and fun shoes as long as they're job appropriate. (no open toe)
