UNC Chapel hill vs. ECU (online RN-BSN program)

Published

I am a full-time working RN wanting to obtain a BSN. UNC's program is more expensive and requires foreign languages. ECU offers more options for MSN/NP programs online. Has anyone on here completed either program or is currently in one of these programs? I'd like to hear feedback about the programs and any opinions please. Thanks!!

I'll give you one guess...lol! I'm currently taking online MSN courses at ECU. Haven't had a bad experience yet...I am bias though, been a Pirate for a long time!

have done both....I obtained my BSN through UNC online...did the one year option....a lot of papers and one semester of community health clinicals....you take a physical assessment class and must send a video in of you doing a physical assessment on a live person OR attend the university and do it on someone in front of the professors....I did extremely well in it. However it was a lot of work to do so!!

Cannot complain about ECU. Have taken two graduate courses online and did not have any problems with them. They do have some classes though that mandate you "attend" an online session at a specific time. Was not a problem for me however some people complained that they were not pre-warned about the necessary attendance....

All in all, regardless of the university, just remember, you will be doing A LOT of papers!!!! at Carolina the only tests i took were for the physical assessment class and maybe one or two for another class..

hope this helps

RaziRN, which school are you leaning more towards??

ECU, because it requires less pre-req classes and because I hope to be a midwife one day and ECU is the only school in North Carolina where you can obtain a midwifery degree.
