I am currently starting my third semester of the program. I have not found it difficult at
all. The instructor are flexible with turning in assignments, and in my opinion, its better to sit at home and learn than go to class (much more convenient).
You dont have to log into class every week. If you miss a class you can listen to the archives. You will do fine!
Hey gerry79,
thanks for the reply! approx how long is the program? i know it's really up to the person and the pace that they take it. but if you go at it full speed how fast can u get it done?

It can be done in 2 years. I hope to finish in two years since it seems as if I have been in school forever!

I need to get myself motivated to do the work for school-- well even to enroll. I have been out of the nursing field for 5 years, but worked as an RN for about 5 years prior to joining Coast Guard. At least w/ CG they will pay for school, so that's motivation enough to jump on this!
My question is this, do they have clinicals? Or is it all online? How does all this work? I will be leaving Boston sometime next year or so, but I've already heard that you can do the work online from anywhere. I'll actually be going to "A" school for corpsman, so I'll be getting a review of healthcare there. Anyway, good luck to all who are in the program, or joining!

I'm wondering the same thing.

Hi there, I didn't even know there was a Massachusetts forum until today! I just got accepted into the UMASS program as well for fall 2008. I am starting a new job, God willing, on Sept. 8, and I am wondering if I will be taking on too much enrolling for September as well. I am taking the first class, Professional Issues in nursing? I have a lot of support at home. I will be working about 40 hrs a week. I believe if I made it through nursing school while working and raising a family, I can do this! Oh, I'm starting the new job in psych, which is my passion (substance abuse).
