Hello! wondering if anyone can advise me
I am a UK trained paeds nurse and I work in an emergency department currently! I am keen to move to the USA/ maybe Canada to work and live, however I know that it is difficult for paeds nurses as we are speciality trained. I am willing to take the NCLEX and I am aware that there is Nurse residency Programmes that Nurses can do to make up learning gaps. I would ideally like to go back to Atlanta GA as I was previously here on a scholarship through my university back in 2023. I have a active Nursing pin with no restrictions and will have completed numerous courses such as PILS amongst other courses that I know US trained RN's also complete!
am I wasting my time trying to come to the USA or is it possible?

If you want to move to Atlanta, contact the Georgia BON and see what you need to get licensed.

Check out the international section of this forum - there are numerous threads on specialist UK nurses wanting to work abroad. Sadly, there can be difficulties for people who don't have a general adult training. Good advice above - always contact the regulatory body wherever you wish to work.
