UK nurse wanting to emmigrate to the USA

Published

Hello everyone,

Me, my husband and our fur babies 😉 are wanting to emmigrate to the USA. This is a dream we have had for almost 10 years now, and are in a good position in our lives to do so! Is there anyone in the same position as us or currently living and working as a registered Nurse out there! I would love to hear from you please 😊

Starting point would be meeting US state requirements. US nurses are general trained therefore you need to ensure that your transcripts show both clinical and theory hours in Paeds, Mental Health, Obstetrics and Adult. If you do not then the issue would be finding courses to make up these hours

Arh thank you for your reply. This is the first time on here, so you'll have to bare with me ha!

I have taken your comments on board and have been in contact with a lovely man in the UK, who also reiterated this. Would you mind if I asked where you are currently living and working.

Thank you Lauren

I am from the UK and trained back in the 80's with bridge to RN in the 90's. Currently living in Canada but did have a job in the US lines up in 2006 but got hit by retrogression and a 10 year plus wait for a visa allowing me to live and work in the US.

Canada has similar requirements in that the nurses training is general and covers the areas I mentioned previously
