Hi People
I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.
I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.
I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!

Is there anyone who knows the medical requirement for NMC registration? can nurses with treated PTB allowed to work in the UK?
Yes! You can still work in the UK. That is why they require the TB IOM testing before taking the OSCE. you just have to provide your old xray films and tb certificate. Inactive/active PTB they will still require you to take the sputum exam for three consecutive days. The result will be 6 to 9 weeks of waiting. So I advise you if your docs were already received and just waiting for the DL , you can actually go to the IOM manila if you have a history of PTB so that the results will just be in time with your decision letter.
hi guys another question regarding completion of forms
1. if boxes are not enough for my answers, like completing an address or email address, what should i do?
2. if there is no applicable answer, what should i write? none? not applicable or should i just leave it blank
3. does tb screening test only available in Philippines? I am working in Middle east and it would be difficult for me to go to philippines just for tb screening, is the form also downloadable from NMC website or is a form given by agency then to be filled up by any qualified doctors? can someone please explain fully the process of the tb screening. thank you
No prob iampresrn! :)The NMC form must only be filled-out by your Nursing college/ uni. Afterall, your nursing subjects and clinicals were under that school. However, you must obtain the course description or theoretical hours of both your Tourism and Nursing subjects since SOME of the minor subjects from your 1st course were credited by your nursing school and is thus, included in your total BSN lecture /theory hours.
For the second question, I believe only an official ink stamp or dry seal is honored. You can ask your agency or some of us here just to be sure.
hi sassyces, thank you for your response, it is so kind of you to spend time helping me.
if I may ask again, can download forms as many times as I want? this is my referee had a mistake in completing one form so she asked for new one. would it be okey cause i am worried about the bar code?
second, under the education and post training tab, in completion of assessment stage, there is one question that states:
If you are missing training in some clinical areas, please download the document below. Once completed, please return to us by post.
Training Area reference formDownload
- i downloaded this form without me fully understanding that I just need to submit this form if i lack or i am missing some trainings from clinical areas when i was still a nursing student. so if am not missing any training,i can disregard this oneright?
last thing:
if the boxes are not enough for my answer what should i do and for questions with no applicable answers, should i just write none? not applicable or should i leave it blank?
thank you again
Hello. Is anyone here preparing for the NEW UK OSCE in May?and needs a study partner?
I have my OSCE in May and thinks I will be good to get some learning partners.
Hi I revisited this site only today. I'm sitting my osce in June. Have you taken your osce already? If not we can study together if you want. Send me a pm.
Thanks and very good luck to everyone.
Hey guys, ive booked my osce for june and am stuck on the assessment part, the sample assessment sheet has the ADL assessment, are others planning on doing top to toe and just encorporating those 6 or 7 subheadings in? I also feel confused about the death and dying part, if i get a case study who is in for day surgery or a simple procedure i feel asking about end of life care would instil anxiety?
yeah thats what i thought.. so nervous i'm stressing about every detail. Have you booked your OSCE? The website also seems to be using the AL assessment framework too which seems like it would miss a lot of important medical information, don't know whether just to combine thatmethod with top to toe. Is anyone else having these thoughts?
Passed the exam six months ago, fortunately. Follow the manual given to you by the uni. It's your basis how you're going to study the exam. Remember, you have to make it concise as it's a timed exam. 15 minutes isn't a great amount of time. Don't over complicate things. Do as what you've told, no more and no less[emoji106]ðŸ»
