UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE

Published

Hi People

I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.

I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.

I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!

Hi guys,

I was just wondering if any of you experienced the same problem:

The 'This document has been received' note disappeared on my Registration Authority Verification. PRC sent it via FedEx last Feb 3 and was uploaded in the portal on Feb 17 (with the note that its been received). Right after I clicked on 'Submit' last Feb 24, it wasn't there already. I thought of it as a system glitch so I just ignored it but up until now, it still isn't reflecting back as a document they received.

Two of my friends already got their DL recently and they submitted all the forms on the 2nd week of March so I am a little worried since NMC received and uploaded all my docs last Feb 24.

Would appreciate any insight. Thank you. xhappy.png.pagespeed.ic.E_79LnZ_Q3.png

Have you tried looking into the "my Application" tab? Try viewing it from there..

Hi!

I rang up NMC the other day and to my dismay, I was told that my application is still in Pending as they do not have my Regisration Authority Verification yet. I asked them to check on My Applications tab and they confirmed that the document has been with them since Feb 17. They will have it rescanned and I will call back next week for an update. I have wasted almost 2 months waiting for nothing but oh well.. í ½í¸©

Thank you so much! That was indeed a great help. :)

Hi,

I have been completing my papers for the assessment stage and I need some help in the Declaration of health. There is a question under "Relationship to applicant" and the question goes like this " Have you previously employed the applicant in any capacity?" It is answerable by yes or no..What does it mean exactly? Please Help....Thanks.

Hi there..

The answer has to be NO, it means that the Doctor or the Occupational Health Nurse completing the form must not be your current or previous employer, (but they can work for the same hospital/clinic/company as you)

Atleast that's what I think, I did read in another post someone saying that by mistake the Doctor had ticked YES and NMC contacted them to get another Declaration of Health which delayed the process by a few weeks..

Hope this helps, good luck

Thank you so much aliahoosen...it makes sense now...thanks for the help...:)

hello again...

I'm just wondering if the declaration of good health should to be filled out by the medical practitioner working at the same hospital as I am..or can I go to another doctor in a different hospital? Kindly advice..Thanks

HI again..

It can be either or, doesn't really matter both the doctor working at the same hospital as you as well a private doctor, can both fill out the forms.

P.s you will have to pay extra if going to a private Doctor, whereas someone working with you can probably do it for free

thank you so much dear...:)

hello guys

Im finishing my application as well, I just wanted to ask if any of you here are transferree or shifter in College? I used to study in another school with different course then I shifted to nursing in a different university. I am wondering whether I need to declare that I studied from other school with different course or just they need the nursing years. Please do help, thank you and God bless us all

Hi iampresrn,

I am on the same boat as you - only that I was a transferee and not a shiftee.

First of all, whether you declare it not, your agency and the NMC will still know. Remember, the TOR of your nursing school carries with it your subjects and grades from your previous course (or in my case, school). Since transfering to another university requires the student to secure their transfer credentials from his/her last school attended in order to be enrolled, that information will then be reflected in your updated TOR.

Hope this helped.

hi sassy, thank you for your message. So do I also need to ask my previous school to fill up the same form? Or only the school where I attended Nursing? I was Tourism from the other school before I transferred to Nursing School and the forms usually contains nursing information which i doubt my Tourism School wont be able to answer.

2nd question: Does the trodat qualifies for the hospital stamp?

Thank you very much!

No prob iampresrn! :)

The NMC form must only be filled-out by your Nursing college/ uni. Afterall, your nursing subjects and clinicals were under that school. However, you must obtain the course description or theoretical hours of both your Tourism and Nursing subjects since SOME of the minor subjects from your 1st course were credited by your nursing school and is thus, included in your total BSN lecture /theory hours.

For the second question, I believe only an official ink stamp or dry seal is honored. You can ask your agency or some of us here just to be sure.
