Uk license expired

quick question. my NMC RGN license expired sept. 2008 and did not pay renewal fee this year. i have RGN license thru overseas training back in the early 80s in reading, berks and since moving in US since 1991 and working as a US RN... I have been paying 3 year renewal fees since...

i did not renew bec i am so poor right now...lots of cancellation in agency work and low census here and there. i want to hang on to my blood money.:redbeathe

do i need to do the entire RGN overseas course thru NMC if i do decide to go back to uk? BTW....i am originally from philippines and am a UK/US citizen.

If nursing in the US and have a state license active then as I read it you should have no problems when returning to the UK and nursing

Last info I was aware of:

If you practise continuously in the UK it's a straight forward renewal.

If you fail to renew within 3 months of renewal date - you are required to complete the declaration of PREP standards.

If you are working as a licensed nurse abroad and return to the UK you are required to declare the PREP standard.

If you have been out of nursing for longer than (? I think it was 5) years or cannot satisfy the PREP requirements for the above then you are required to do a Back to Nursing course in order to register.

Maybe not if you can prove you have done CE's in the country you are in and have proof that you did this they may waiver it. I guess that will be up to them and the proof you provide.
