I took my boards this a.m. and it shut off at 75. I had a ton of newborn,OB, priority, thrombolytic and a few transplant & oncology questions - what happened to good old med-surg questions? I just feel sick.
I was done in an hour, which makes me think I went through the questions too fast. I graduated at the top of my class - if I don't pass this thing I'm gonna dig a hole and jump in it I'm sick of the stress!!!

Doesn't it shut off if you're way above the passing mark of the 75 questions as well? :)

hey there
I took mine monday and think I will be able to find out tomorrow morning. My computer shut off at 75 as well and I am pretty sure I failed. I felt like there was def two answers right for every question, and I felt like I wasn't using my common sense and not focused. I also graduated last year with my BSN so I felt like I knew nothing. I did study though for the last month with mosby(which seemed a little overwhelming) and a kaplan book. Good luck to you though, but I know I failed:( I am sure you passed though

Your not alone! I also took my boards today and the machine shut off at 75 and I know I failed!!! I have been an LPN for 10 years and finally finished my associates degree and I work OB. I did not have any OB, Ped, or drug calc questions. They seem to be all delegating, prioritizing, and GI stuff. It seemed toward the end my questions seemed to be getting easier, is this a bad sign...
Hang in there
Hey babynurse
I am sure you did well, but that's too bad you didn't get any OB questions. That is just the luck of the NCLEX right? Everyone seems to get questions on the things they knew the least about. I am sorry, but there is NO way anyone can learn everything for that test. A ton of the things in Mosby I had never even learned(procedure wise) I just don't think NCLEX is as fair as it should be. I am sure it does test accuracy, but in the same breath it can be all about luck as well. I am sure the same person who fails on one day, could have taken someone else's questions and passed. I don't know I am personally more in favor of some kind of standard test with an actual grade, etc. I mean also, say you are a great nurse and are very well off in the knowledge dept....well say you just start off on a bad note(that is how some tests go sometimes) and say you ans like three in a row wrong that are "easy" to the computer...what if that really starts to screw you over? I mean I don't know I just don't like the way it is done.
Thank you all for you replies - it helps to know I'm not alone. :) I am trying to keep my sanity until the results come in - let me know how you do.
Best wishes!!

Mine shut off at 105 (I took it Monday). Your right about it not being fair. I studied 4 books plus 2 different internet studies that I paid for and nothing could have prepared me for that test.........except maybe experience.......which I don't have coming right out of school. I should know tomorrow if I passed or not. I'll keep you guys posted.

hi..new to this forum and just took the NCLEX.. I find out tomorrow or the next day.. I honestly feel awful about it.. I had a bad, rainy drive there, which made me all flustered...I wasnt thinking clearly.. and felt like I had to guess on a lot of questions.. did anyone honestly feel like that and pass? Im tearing myself up about this, getting ready to feel humiliated if I dont pass and then I have to turn down a job I was really looking forward to start working at. Ive never felt so badly after a test before, I couldnt even think about what was on it after I took it.. my mind went blank... I would love to hear anyone's story that felt similar and passed or failed. How did you cope, etc... thanks

Ok guys....we are so not alone here... Everybody keeps saying they failed...well stop it right now...Was the test hard? (took it today shut off at appr. 100) YES! Are we all anxious and having GI upset? YES!! but we also have something else in common...we made it through nursing school. We are all allright, believe it!!
