I am looking to see if anyone has experience applying for the UCSF MEPN program and being waitlisted? What was the experience like? Do you have any information about the waitlist process? Are you currently on the waitlist?

I am currently on the waitlist as well. Spoke to Steven he said the people that were accepted have two weeks to respond. At that point they will begin calling people off of the waitlist. Its agonizing to wait but you're not alone. Just try not to be discouraged. The waitlist still means your application was very competitive but there are only a limited number of spots.

I know when I was speaking to people before my interview, several had applied to multiple schools and some already had acceptances at other schools. So, that may open up some spaces if they accept positions elsewhere.

Thanks for your response! It is definitely nerve-racking! Did he say if they email you and tell you your position before the last day to confirm? I know some other schools email people on the waitlist and tell them their position on it. Thanks!

I’m on too @roseglow18 @Corona! Hopefully you all don’t feel as anxious as me haha. I just know admits have two weeks to commit and they said they would have a clearer picture in a week or two. But I don’t know my spot or how the process works exactly. What specialties did you all apply to?

I am definitely an anxious person so this has me super nervous! I applied for CNM/WHNP. What about you?

It does feel good to connect with other people in the same boat. One friend who was MEPN ~10 years ago said she knows numerous people who were accepted off of the waitlist over the years. This is the part where I’d hate to work in admissions - must be really tough to interact with all of the excitement of those who have gotten in, the anxiety of those of us who are waitlisted, and the disappointment/sadness of those rejected all at the same time.

I’m PMHNP! I met a really awesome CNW candidate on my interview day!

Yeah it definitely makes me feel a bit better! Hopefully we all get in! That is reassuring that you have a friend who knows people who got off the waitlist for sure! I’m super anxious to hear any news. I wonder if we get assigned a position on the waitlist, too.

Did anyone ask about their specific position on the waitlist? I am so tempted to ask SJ but also afraid I might break etiquette if there is such a thing??? I'm also afraid that if we don't email SJ, it'll come off as disinterest? Any thoughts?

So I did ask and there’s no way for them to tell you your specific position on the list. And I honestly regret how many times I’ve emailed SJ. So maybe don’t follow in my footsteps.

Could you elaborate on how there's no way for them to tell? Like they don't want to tell or...?

Did you get a bad/awk vibe from replies or do you just feel bad from emailing so much? Thanks for replying btw. Appreciate the info.

Hi all,

I just got accepted into the CNM/WHNP post masters program and I was on the waitlist after interviewing for 2 weeks before I got an email of acceptance. I know this is not the MEPN track (our interviews were mid March) but it still does happen! I also emailed my individual program coordinators to inquire about positions on the wait list but they will not tell you this. They simply say they "are unable to tell you" your position. I got the waitlist decision about 5 days after my interview and then I was accepted exactly 2 weeks after.

Best of luck to all!
