Anyone knows anything about the unit? What type of patients i.e; surgical/medical?. Nurse to patient ratio. Interview process especially phone interview. Thanks in advance.

I worked as a float nurse at UCLA-Santa Monica this past winter, but my "home" unit was the geri unit. I was working nights; the patient ratio was 5:1, with 2 or 3 techs (can't remember the number of beds; 24, maybe). Many patients were tele and/or O2 sat monitored. Most of the patients were workup for AMS, pneumonia, or S/P fall. The telephone interview was very brief; just 5 minutes of "how many years experience do you have, what types of patients have you taken care of," etc. Hope that helps!
