Summer hopefuls talk here.... good luck to us all!!! :redbeathe
yay! yay! I also just accepted a position on one of the cardiac units (don't know the official name or floor)!!!!!!!!!!!!!btw, I was on the waitlist, interviewed on April 14th, and just found out now (May 6).
If you interviewed with R.A. I bet you're on the same floor as me! I know no one and am moving from NY with my boyfriend (who's originally from LA) so maybe it won't be so bad.. Ahh!

nope, I didn't interview with R.A., I was with someone else. but it's def a cardiac floor. yay, see you in LA! I'm coming from San Francisco.
So sorry to be off topic but does anyone have any advice on how to transfer an NY license to CA?
I am taking my boards here because I don't want to fly out to Cali just to take the NCLEX. I've already applied (and partially paid. $143.) for an NY license because I didn't know if I would have this job or not! I'm assuming once I pass my boards I basically have my license in NY, and will be able to obtain the info I need to send to Cali?
I know there is an endorsement form and something about fingerprinting but I just feel really lost at this point. I emailed them for advice but I have a feeling it wont be helpful.
Also, how much money will it be to transfer?
You would not have to fly to Cali to take the NCLEX ... it can be taken anywhere in the U.S., in any Pearson location. It just depends on which board of nursing you apply to for the authorization to test (ATT) to be generated that determines which state issues your license. But it sounds like you're already into the process in NY. You should check the Cali Board of Nursing website to see what their requirements are for licensure by endorsement - their application should tell you what is required.
