Hello,
I saw that the MECN application for UCLA has been posted today. Is anyone applying to the Fall 2011 program?? I haven't found a thread going on yet...Maybe we can share our questions/concerns regarding the application process here.
UGH! I feel like all that hard work for nothing...
you shouldn't feel that way. just look at it as an opportunity to work harder next year to accomplish you goals. i've kept telling myself that no matter what happens, i look forward to working hard to achieve what i want in years to come. keep focusing on that and push yourself forward.

i feel your pain... i'm soooo bummed out by this. my plan B is to go the ADN route. there's one school near me whose deadline for fall enrollment is april so i still have time.
gotta remind myself that my goal is to be an RN. i can always get a masters later.
I would recommend sticking out for ABSNs and ELMSN programs, as many hospitals are requiring a BSN or higher for hire. I work at a hospital now and they are no longer hiring those with associate RNs & making all current nurses go back to school to get their BSN regardless of how long they have been employed as a nurse

Have you considered applying to Mount St. Mary's? They have another application deadline for March 15th for the fall. It's an Accelerated BSN 12 month program. Although it has a couple of prereqs most people don't take like religious studies...
For those that have not received a decision online, have any of you contacted Jessica regarding your status? I can't right now because I'm in class. Sooooo nervous!
Well I just called her because I also have not received a decision.. She said that the decisions are still being sent out and that I will be getting it via snail mail shortly. Hm....given that they are sending out 600 decision letters, I guess it takes some time for them to get to us all..

True. My hospital is doing the same thing. Only hiring RNs with BSN at this point. Well also I wanted to mention that Azusa Pacific University's entry level program provides BSN, MSN, and NP specialty. All in one package
maybe you guys are right... i should hold out for a BSN or MSN. now that i'm finishing up my last two prerequisites, i'm eligible to apply to CSUN and CSLA for 2012 enrollment. thanks for the heads up regarding who they are hiring.
as for mount st. mary's, it's too darn expensive, unfortunately!!
