Uc denver, hopkins, university of washington

Published

I graduated university a year ago from the states and am now working on a neuroscience intensive care unit in australia. I'm going to be applying to graduate schools in december and I was just wondering what people thought of my chance of getting in or what I could do to improve my resume...

I had a overall gpa of 3.3 and a gpa of 3.6 (for my junior and senior year). Do you think that helps? because I realize a 3.3 is pretty low but considering I had a 3.8 and a 4.0 my senior year maybe it would help me out? Also, I have a lot of volunteering- about 4 trips to africa working on medical trips. And I also ran a summer camp for two summers for 200 innercity kids. And now I am mentoring a girl where I live and volunteer at a non profit yoga studio.

Really, im setting my goals high and aiming for university of washington as my number one and would LOVE to go there. I am wanting to get into the family mental health nurse practitioner program. Does anyone know how many people apply to that program? Do you think it will hurt me that I haven't had mental health nursing experience? I just felt that it was important to get the critical care side to nursing....and any input on uc denver, ucsf, uni of chicago-ill, hopkins, university of maryland....any of that would be great.
