Hello I'm so close to finishing my pre-req for a nursing program. I'm kind of stuck on which one has a better nursing program. I heard all of the have their pros and cons but these were somewhat a few years back. I'm more of a hands on learner, if this helps any. Thanks for any feedback :)

I plan on applying to the UALR program. I here they do a lot of clinicals so I would assume the it would be hands on.

I can't comment specifically on which school has more clinical/hands on experience, but here is some information to consider.
What kind of degree are you wanting? All three offer something different on graduation. You can always go on and continue your education after you get your RN but are you interested in a diploma or degree to start off with?
As far as schools go, looking at the board of nursing NCLEX pass rates for 2013:
Baptist Health (diploma program) has a 85.7% first time pass rate (163 out of 190).
UALR (associates) - 92.9% (79/85)
UAMS (BSN) - 90.8% (148/163)
See results for other years here: ARSBN: NCLEX Pass Rates (AR)
Also, I would check the number of students that start each year and how many actually finish. Additionally, I know that Baptist requires an exit HESI exam (not positive about UAMS or UALR) and I know 2 people who passed all the nursing classes but failed the HESI at the end of school and did not graduate at all.
Good luck deciding!

Yes, UALR is competitive and hard but it's that way for a reason. I attend UALR NURSING now, it's pretty heavy stuff but you will know your stuff and be the nurse that you would want or a love one to have.
Yes thats one of the things im really looking for! Good luck!
L8RRN yes those are some great points I will definitely look into! I am looking towards a BSN thanks!
Cocoahunny I love that they just dont basically give me all the answers I do wanna learn :) and are most instructors willing to help if you so happen to get stuck? Thank you!

I'm in UAMS BSN program currently and I love it! We have the highest NCLEX pass rates in the state of Arkansas currently and we have some pretty amazing instructors.
The summer is rough but it's definitely doable :-) we are finishing with our last test and will be having our white coat ceremony on Aug 1st.
Ask me any questions you might have, but personally there is a push to get your BSN degree with major hospitals and career advancement and opportunities are opened up with a bachelors degree vs. an associates. Being that you already will have completed your pre-reqs you would do best to continue into a four year nursing program!
Good luck and best wishes to you and whatever school you decide to go into :-)
