Do they start calling after the acceptance/decline deadline ?

Based on last year, if you are waitlisted -- you have an excellent chance of getting in. I was on the waitlist literally for about 1 day and then got picked up for Tucson. I know quite a few people that started on the waitlist. Lots of people apply to multiple schools, as soon as they send in the declination -- they'll pick off the list. They won't tell you anything about where you are on it; so don't bother asking! They will call you directly to let you know -- so make sure you have your phone ready!! I assume that if you don't answer - they'll send an email. Just be ready to go and prepare like you're accepted and then when you get picked up you won't be stressing over last minute items. I would just hold off on things that cost money (like uniforms).

Good luck!

They will call as soon as somebody sends in a declination; they don't wait for the deadline. I got called a day or two after the acceptance emails went out. But I know of people who got accepted just a day or two before we started class. So, just prepare like you're going to be in (as much as you can).

Has anyone been officially accepted yet? I turned in my transcripts and admission acceptance and I guess I'm just waiting on the grad college acceptance? Or I wonder if we have to wait for the first deadline to pass?

Does anyone know where to apply for loans that help cover living?!

When you apply for FAFSA and U of A gets back to you, you'll be awarded about 40k in federal subsidized/unsubsidized loans. Make sure you apply for FAFSA for not only 2017-2018, but 2016-2017 as well. Half of the funds from the 40k come from 2016-2017. After that, you can request a grad plus loan from the school that will cover all additional costs of living. Let me know if you have any questions about it. I've looked into it a lot. You can always go the private route, but the interest rates are a lot higher.

Anyone else still waiting for their AZ DPS fingerprint card? I am afraid it will not be ready by May 15th. Congrats to all new students! See you all in Tucson!

Hey desertturtle56! You are not the first person I have heard that from. For sure a new program has to work out problems. I'm looking at ASU, UIU, NAU or GCU too for nursing. Can another alumni give their positive or negative experience?

I think you're going to have a hard time with your GPA, even if you score really high on the HESI. Most of the people in our cohort had at least a 3.4, plus a really great prerequisite gpa, and HESI scores in the 90s. Applications aren't due until January. Maybe take some more classes to pad your gpa.
