I am considering doing the online Path course from U of Iowa, and was curious to see if anyone here has taken it, and how was it? My main concern is that I have not had A & P as I am taking it this summer, will that be a huge mistake? I already have a BS Degree, but am going back for my BSN and Path is a pre-req. Of course time is of the essence and I need to take Path now! UGH!
THANKS!

I haven't taken Pathology from UI, but I've taken plenty of other distance learning classes from UI. (I do have the recommended book for Pathology, though. I was at the Iowa Book bookstore returning books for other classes I've taken there and planned to take Path sometime anyway, so I thought, what the hey.) Other online classes I've taken from different institutions seem less clunky and more streamlined than the ones I've taken at UI, but the instructors are typically very, very good. Just from looking at the book, you may seriously benefit from the A&P before taking this class unless you have a really decent working knowledge of A&P already. With UI distance learning courses, you do have longer than a regular semester to finish if you want and if the class allows it, so if it takes longer to absorb the material, so be it.
Even though it's upper level, I found my upper-level courses I took to be easier than the lower-level Spanish I took from UI. What's up with that? Maybe that's because I haven't hit Pathology yet.
