TX abortion vigilantes

Published

The state of TX has a new law that provides for anybody to get a $10,000 bounty by suing any person discussing or assisting a woman in any way to have an abortion after six weeks, I.e., before many women even know they are pregnant. The burden is on the person sued to deny it, and if they win they cannot recover their legal costs. This means a driver, a friend to whom a woman confided, someone who bought her a bus ticket, a vindictive ex, clergy, a clinic receptionist, a neighbor you don’t like, a competitor, a restaurant where you didn’t like the service, a ref whose call you didn’t like … all open to being sued by anyone, and the burden on them to refute. Your rapist could impregnate you and then sue you. There are no exceptions for incest, pregnant children, or rape. There are obvious constitutional difficulties with this, information on which can be found in many sources. The SCOTUS declined to block it for the nonce, but have NOT invalidated Roe v Wade and are awaiting further suits.

A private group has put up a website where anonymous people can report any “suspicious” cases, which they will then refer to authorities…and I’ll bet they’ll expect to get the ten grand for every one. It is presently being flooded by fake reports, many hilarious. It’s taken off on Tik-Tok and Twitter at pic.Twitter.com/xgpvESdc5b  If you’d like to join the fun, you can. AUSTIN (Nexstar) — The United States government is set to argue against Texas’ almost near-total abortion ban Friday morning in a U.S. District Court, asking for an injunction.

The U.S. Department of Justice sued Texas on Sept. 9 for its abortion law that went into effect on Sept. 1, in an attempt to block it from being enforced. Despite this, Senate Bill 8 still stands in Texas, banning abortions once a “fetal heartbeat” is detected. The law describes “fetal heartbeat” as “cardiac activity,” which can be detected as early as six weeks — a time when many women do not know they are pregnant.

And at 6 weeks, a fetus doesn't even have a heart yet - just some conductive nerve tissue.

Its important to note the Democrats strong support for abortions is linked to their longstanding history of racism against African Americans.  In the future I think we will look back at the Democrats genocidal push for abortion similarly to how we view Adolf Hitler and the Jews.

"Abortion impacts African Americans at a higher rate than any other population group. In 2011, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released an Abortion Surveillance Report. According to that report, black women make up 14 percent of the childbearing population. Yet, 36 percent of all abortions were obtained by black women. At a ratio of 474 abortions per 1,000 live births, black women have the highest ratio of any group in the country."

Man, you really read from the script, don't you?  These are the exact words that an Orange County California man talking to me said 2 weeks ago.  Abortion rates are linked to poverty.  The high abortion rate is understandable; the tragedy is the poverty that causes women to abort.  Now the guy who asked me if I knew about that is always complaining about the minorities stealing his tax dollars in California (I have known him for 47 years and he was always a racist).  I KNOW that he doesn't like or respect people who don't have a lot of money so where did this sudden interest in the Black abortion rate come from? Sounds like Tucker Carlson gaslighting  to me.

It should be more than just a fine.  Assisting in murder in any way should come with criminal charges.  Don't know how any healthcare professional could be against saving babies from being murdered,

The rights of a potential human being should never outweigh the rights of an actual human being.

And as someone who was in this position many years ago having to decide what I would do with the product of a rape I'd like to say 'You get an opinion when you have a uterus and can can carry a child for nine months.

And before you accuse me of being pro abortion, the decision I came to was I would adopt the child out to a much loved couple of friends. That said that was my choice and I have no right to assume another woman could or should have to follow my course of action.

Fortunately my body naturally expelled the 2 week product of conception and I didn't have to make the decision

This texas law is bloody shameful. It won't reduce the number of abortions, it will increase the number of women who are suffering complications and dying from dangerous DIY abortions

You have pinpointed the legal implications of considering a fetus a human being with rights.  If we consider a fetus a human being with rights, what would happen when we decide that a woman isn't behaving maternally enough?  Perhaps she continues to smoke, consume alcohol, eat potato chips from dawn to dusk, etc.  Should be put these women in prison to mitigate a possible side effect of these bad habits?  That is the logical consequence of given a fetus legal rights.  In any pregnancy there are two sets if rights to be considered and the mother is the only one who is alive and breathing.  However, in my experience, I only saw 1 late term abortion and that was when the fetus was determined to have a chromosome abnormality incompatible with life and we sectioned her.  If you only see 1 in an entire career of over 40 years, it gives you an idea of how exceedingly rare it occurs.  So, if you believe that this couple shouldn't have received this service, you must believe that it is more just that she be forced to continue the pregnancy only to watch the baby die in the delivery room?  99 and 44/100% of people who comment on abortion have NO IDEA of the pain their religious beliefs inflict on other people.  Religious brain washing is easy but justice is hard.
